8th of Nolus in the year 720 TR

Finally I have a heading within this land. Following the High Mass I spoke with the High Priest here in Asyria. Our mages have been planning to travel to Gerar to investigate a “plague” said to be afflicting their town. I’ve had my misgivings about such a task as it does little to further the goals of Agrik, but the High Priest reassured me that cleansing the plague in the name of Agrik would recruit many new followers. I fear that is not going far enough, but I must trust in his wisdom.

I do believe I can bring order to the city and cleanse it of whatever foul disease permeates its walls. No mere mist can stand to the inferno of Agrik’s might. The local governance has proven itself incapable of protecting its citizens and their has been no attempts by the monarch to address the town’s needs. Perhaps, when all is said and done, the nobles of Gerar can be replaced by stronger men. Men loyal to the church. As in Rethem, the Order of Agrik would provide the foundation, strength and protection the town obviously lacks under its current leaders.

The refugees in town are almost exclusively elves and, if rumors are to be believed, the fog permeating their town are specifically targeting them among the populace, taking one every night or two. One of the elves, a woman and a fair sight indeed named Mai Lin, traveled from Gerar with her people but, when she learned of our intent, insisted that she be allowed to accompany us.

My traveling companions are finishing their tasks here in town, including the commission of new arms and armor for the mages, and will be ready to travel in a few days. Given my new instructions from the Church, I find the anticipation mounting to resume travel.
